Howard Group - Window Repairs - MGC Glazing

The Brief

Howard Group was dealing with a large broken window that had shattered at their headquarters and needed a fast commercial window repair in Cambridge. The window was part of a curtain walling system, essential to the building’s structure and appearance. In addition to restoring functionality, the replacement had to meet specific safety and insulation standards. Given the urgency, the project required a quick turnaround with minimal disruption to daily operations.

The Challenge

Replacing the shattered window was incredibly complex due to the size of the window and the curtain walling system it was a part of. The commercial window repair in Cambridge involved carefully dismantling the frame, including the face-fixed caps and glazing pressure plates, to remove the broken glass safely. On top of that, the new window had to meet specific building safety and energy efficiency requirements to align with the building’s performance standards. Another part of the challenge was sourcing the custom glass, City-Glass and ensuring a precise fit.
