The Brief
The Herts & Essex Sports Centre needed significant upgrades to enhance the strength and robustness of its window solutions. The focus was on replacing large, broken windows with our City-Glass System in custom aluminium frames. Given the size and positioning of the window frames, window safety was paramount.
The Challenge
This sports centre installation in Essex presented unique challenges, mainly due to the sheer size of the windows. To tackle this, we needed to bring in specialised equipment capable of handling the task with precision. We utilised an AEDA Mini Crane with vacuum lifters and a scissor lift, allowing us to install such large windows safely and efficiently.
Beyond just fitting the windows, it was crucial that the new installations met and exceeded the previous standards for stability and durability. These results ensured the final outcome was successful and a significant upgrade in both safety and structural integrity.

Safety and Compliance
The City-Glass System, installed in custom aluminium frames, meets stringent safety standards, including Part L and Part N. This ensures safe glazing solutions that prevent injuries from impact, collision and fall-through, providing security and easy evacuation in emergencies.
Custom Top Hinge Systems
The custom aluminium frames were designed to be stronger and more robust than the previous specifications, significantly enhancing the structural integrity and safety of the windows.
Acoustic Performance
Using specialised equipment such as the MAEDA Mini Crane with vacuum lifters and a scissor lift allowed for the precise and secure installation of the large windows, ensuring the frames were correctly positioned and safely installed.
